User Account
One of the first things a user must do when she sits down at a Windows XP-based computer is to log on. In this operating systems, any activity the user performs must be in the context of a logged-on user account. Before your users can log on, they must have user accounts. ON the other hand, you also need to know how to delete a local user account so that you can protect the computer from unauthorized access. How to Create or Delete Local User Account:
Create a Local User Account in Windows XP:
- Log on as a local computer administrator.
- In the “My Computer Icon” right click and then click Manage.
- Below System Tools, expand (click ‘+’) Local Users and Groups.
- Select the User folder.
- Right click the User folder and choose New User.
- In the User Name text box, type the new user’s account name.
- In the Full Name text box, type the user’s full name.
- In the password text box, type the user’s password
- In the Confirm Password text box, re-type the user’s password Select the desired account options.
- Click Create to create the new user account.
- Click Close.
- Test the account by logging on as the user.
Delete a Local User Account in Widows XP:
- Log on as a Local Computer Administrator.
- Right click on My Computer Icon and choose Manage.
- Below System Tools, expand (click ‘+’) Local User And Groups.
- Select the User folder.
- In the details pane, right click the user you want to delete and choose Delete.
6.Click Yes to confirm that you want to delete this user.
7.Click Close.
